The Nike Air Wildwood ACG Is Back

The outdoors are having a bit of a fashion moment right now. And while it’s easy to bemoan urban dwellers trail-inspired fleece for rugged activities like brunch, the outdoors trend has also helped usher in the return of a classic Nike sneaker, the Air Wildwood ACG.

The Nike Air Wildwood ACG originally released in 1989. ACG stands for “All Conditions Gear” and the Air Wildwood was created as a trail runner, and the successor to the Air Escape. While the performance features of the Air Wildwood ACG are dwarfed by the modern heavily lugged trail runner enshrouded in Gore-Tex, the design lines of the sneaker continue to impress. The sneaker is up to the task in an understated way, which is a quality we should look for in all our products. Its name comes from the 30-mile Wildwood trail in Portland, Oregon, which is regarded as one of the nation’s best routes.

Nike announced that two new colorway fo the Air Wildwood ACG would be released on April 20. One is an earth-toned style with a bold blue Swoosh. The other is predominantly white with a cream Swoosh. Both come equipped with a gum-colored outsole with the Air Wildwood’s famed sawtooth pattern.
